What are you paying attention to?

Although Maggie Jackson’s book Distracted was originally written in 2008 and re-released in 2018, I didn’t learn about it until I interviewed Maggie last year for her book Uncertain.

Listen as Maggie explains the 3 types of attention and delves into the misnomer of multi-tasking and all of the unintended consequences that affect our memory, learning, and our ability to discern what is most important.

Maggie highlights the importance of taking a break from all our devices and carving out “slow time” as a way to un-train our brains from a life full of constant distractions.

Attention is absolutely, extraordinarily important for how we operate in the world, and it’s really useful to know that there are three different kinds.
